Waltons Business Advisers, one of the Tees Valley’ s most recognised independent firms of business advisers and chartered accountants, is proudly marking its 140th anniversary this year.

As well as a nod to history, the milestone is a celebration of a legacy rooted in Hartlepool’ s maritime heritage, which continues to shape its modern, client-first approach.
The firm today has its headquarters overlooking the vibrant Hartlepool Marina, a fitting location that sits a stone’ s throw from where founder William Thomas Walton first set up shop in 1885.
The company’ s history has been synonymous with the town’ s industrial backbone.
Waltons’ story began with a need for practical, trusted advice. William, a former ship’ s captain, was recognised in relation to the vital need for financial expertise within the local shipping industry.
The firm – originally named W T Walton and Son – was established, quickly laying the groundwork for an enduring professional service.
From the outset, Walton understood the importance of adaptability, and the firm quickly expanded into Stockton, Liverpool and London as the business landscape evolved.
Today, that drive for evolution continues with a North-East focus, and a client base spanning Teesside and County Durham, and the firm retaining the Walton name as a proud acknowledgement of its heritage.
