KNOCK- OUT!

Tees firm Telcoss took a major step in supporting grassroots sports in Teesside in 2024-25 by announcing dual sponsorship deals with Redcar Athletic Football Club and promising local boxing talent.

The initiative highlights the growing commitment of Telcoss – experts in industrial services and waste removal- to community engagement and youth development across various sporting disciplines.
The sponsorship of Redcar Athletic, a well-regarded grassroots team competing in the Northern League, came at a pivotal time.
The club has been on an upward trajectory, both in performance and community involvement, and has successfully secured promotion to the Northern Premier League for the first time in its history with victory over Blyth Town.
As part of the sponsorship, the Telcoss logo has featured prominently on Redcar Athletic’ s home and away kits.
“ We are thrilled to be backing a team that represents the heart and energy of our local community,” said Tom Southall, managing director of the firm based on the Wilton International site, close to Redcar.
“ This is more than just a sponsorship – it’ s a partnership rooted in shared values and local pride.”
Redcar Athletic chairman Kev Fryett added:“ This is a brilliant partnership for the club. Lewis and Tom Southall really want to be part of what we’ re building here, so it’ s fantastic news. They are an important part of the local economy already and have Redcar at their heart.”
Kev said that the Southalls have been part of Redcar Athletic since the 1990s, when the club was named Teesside Athletic- with Lewis and Ethan as team players and Tom as a coach- and therefore have an affinity for the football club.
“ It is not just their generosity in financially supporting Redcar Athletic but them turning up at match days and being present in the stands,” he said.“ In addition, Telcoss’ s sponsorship helps our community who have a place to come and have a drink and a chat in our hub. We are totally reliant on financial support and without it

we would not be able to achieve what we have, so we are very thankful.”
Telcoss recognised the importance of giving back to the community and supporting local sporting talent.
“ We realised that we could help local teams to achieve the success they so deserve and be a part of their journey,” said Tom.“ Redcar Athletic have tirelessly worked to achieve their place in the next league. That has been as a direct result of all the staff at Redcar Athletic going over and above to achieve that, their management team, coaches and supporters have got behind them and helped elevate them into the next league for the first time in the club’ s history and
Telcoss are so very proud to have been part of that success.”
Another sponsorship opportunity came Telcoss’ s way in the shape of Bobby Dalton. A talented local boxer from Redcar, Bobby’ s impressive statistics reflect his steely determination to achieve his goal of becoming a British and European boxing champion.
Bobby, who has been boxing for 13 years and currently holds the northern area welterweight title, said:“ Telcoss’ s financial backing and support at my matches will help me realise my dreams.
“ Sponsorship helps me in a fight camp massively. There are a lot of costs in a camp from medicals, nutrition and travel. With their support, it makes it a lot easier so I can focus on my training and become the best version of myself come fight night.”
Sales manager Lewis added:“ Boxing has always been more than just a sport – it’ s about discipline, resilience, respect and community. We’ re proud to stand in Bobby’ s corner as he represents our community with strength and determination.
“ Telcoss is proud to continue our support for local talent, helping provide the tools, resources and opportunities needed to grow and succeed. By supporting both sports, we’ re investing in the next generation of talent- and in the wider community that supports and celebrates them.”
