Hosted at Port of Middlesbrough, the standing-room-only launch event brought together leaders from business, education, government and industry to mark the beginning of what many are calling a new era for Teesside’ s maritime economy.
Building on a rich maritime legacy With a maritime heritage that ' s both storied and significant, Teesside has long been a powerhouse of industrial activity – from steel and petrochemicals to offshore wind and clean energy.
The Tees Maritime Cluster builds upon this legacy, aiming to position Teesside at the forefront of the UK ' s net zero ambitions.
Looking ahead With a clear strategy and growing support, the Tees Maritime Cluster is already making waves and laying the groundwork for long-term impact.
At the heart of its mission are three clear priorities: inspire the next generation, strengthen regional collaboration and attract new investment into Teesside.
Operations director Jo Vinton-Bullwinkel says:“ There’ s a deep sense of pride that comes with calling Teesside home. It’ s a place that’ s built on hard work, resilience and innovation.

What next? This autumn, a flagship event in partnership with Maritime UK will bring investors, industry leaders and policymakers to Teesside, showcasing the region’ s maritime strengths and offering a firsthand look at the opportunities and ambition driving its future.
