It is said that the key to business success is keeping your customers happy and encouraging your team to fulfil its potential. Baines Jewitt Chartered Accountants supports this philosophy through the ongoing training and development of its employees to keep on top of new legislation and changes in policy.
Professional accreditation As a result, many of the firm’ s employees have achieved, or are working towards, professional accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales( ICAEW) or Chartered Institute of Taxation( CIOT), for example.
Former trainee Laura Walker, originally from Middleton St George, is one of the latest employees to be well on her way to achieving chartered accountancy status. Having already completed a fouryear apprenticeship plus Association of Accounting Technicians( AAT) qualifications prior to joining Baines Jewitt, Laura started on a trainee chartered accountancy programme with the firm in 2022.
To achieve accreditation towards ICAEW chartered status, Laura has carried out in-depth hands-on training, passed a series of rigorous examinations in financial management, auditing, business strategy and taxation, and committed to continuing professional development to keep her skills up to date.

Victoria joined Baines Jewitt as a trainee chartered accountant in 2022. With an AAT qualification already under her belt, Victoria set her sights on becoming a chartered accountant. As part of her training programme, which included qualifications in audit and assurance and financial accounting and reporting, Victoria’ s recent exam success means she is on the road to becoming a fully-fledged chartered accountant with the ICAEW.
Trainee accounting technician Lewis joined Baines Jewitt in 2021 following a successful work experience placement at the firm. As well as his busy day job helping with accounts preparation and VAT returns, Lewis recently completed an AAT Level 4 qualification. He has since enrolled on a Level 7 Associate Chartered Accountant( ACA) apprenticeship.
