RECRUITMENT
Welfare – 10 Moonrise staff recently completed level 2 mental health first aid training .
Jessica explains .
“ From there , we will continue to support them with any additional qualifications that they need .”
Sarah adds 10 staff in the office recently completed level 2 mental health first aid training .
“ We are also looking to provide further training for our staff in the office in areas like HR and administration ,” Sarah says .
“ I ’ ve previously done level 3 business administration , along with other staff including Hollie Pallister and Afsha Hussain .
“ We are trying to develop everyone in broader areas and we will also be doing more mental health training .”
When the business first started , there were just three people in the office , who all “ had to muck in and do a bit of everything ”.
Now , the office has got 15 people who have been trained up in different skills , as well as about 200 caring professionals in the community – all of whom have undergone some form of training at Moonrise HQ .
“ We also have an ever-growing list of clients and we need more people who
We have the opportunity , the resources and people who are eager , so we are looking forward to developing as a training provider .
want to work in the care sector ,” Sarah says .
“ At the same time , we also need to keep on top of the training our staff need to maintain our Good rating with the CQC .
“ It ’ s important that we keep developing , keep doing our training and these extra elements of training to build on what we can already do and how we can support people to go even further in their careers .
“ We have the opportunity , the resources and people who are eager , so we are looking forward to developing as a training provider .”
Children ’ s mental health training for community staff is just one of the additional courses Moonrise is looking to provide .
Jessica believes that , across the Tees Valley , there are a lot of people who would like to work in care who don ’ t currently have the experience or qualifications .
In this way , Moonrise is looking to bridge that gap .
“ We will be able to support them in their education and also provide some valuable work experience for them through our services ,” Jessica says .
“ We are looking at the care certificate that we can offer as a basic qualification that you need to start out and we will walk you through it and help you progress further .
“ If you ’ ve got the passion , want to help people and you want to learn , we ’ d like to be able to support you in your career .
“ We also want to be flexible and inclusive , providing people with the right level of education for them , whether it ’ s an apprenticeship or NVQs .”
In Scotland , Moonrise is currently waiting for the go-ahead from the care inspectorate , Scotland ’ s equivalent to the Care Quality Commission ( CQC ), to enable it to open its Scotland HQ .
The firm has also been given permission by Stockton Council to turn two of its properties into children ’ s care homes .
“ All in all , it ’ s quite an exciting time for us !” Jessica says .
“ After celebrating our 10-year anniversary recently , we are looking to the next 10 years with optimism !”
