Training – Mason King receives first aid training from Tony Bain of First Aid Training North East .
Tees Valley is undergoing a remarkable rejuvenation .
TIS has major contracts locally for clients such as K2 Construction Management / SeAH Wind for the provision of scaffolding services , Sir Robert McAlpine for bridge coating repairs on the A19 , Dalkia on the new Fujifilm facilities for insulation services and MGT for insulation services .
Glenn Forbes , project director for K2 Construction Management , said : “ Working on this mammoth project takes an awful lot of synchronisation and support from our contractors . The sheer scale of the organisation from TIS has been superb and is fundamental to our overall project progress .”
Additionally , from its offices in Billingham and a recently opened office in Ellesmere Port , it has contracts throughout the United Kingdom . From Kinlochleven to London and everywhere in between – including Liverpool , Manchester , Northampton , Belvedere , Portsmouth , Pembroke and Newcastle – TIS is no longer simply a North-East company .
It now employs 26 staff and more than 150 full-time operatives and services include specialist access , industrial insulation , passive fire protection , specialist coatings , painting , rope access and industrial cleaning .
Its experienced and vibrant team offers everything a modern full support services company should , with a focus on delivering a safe , first-class service while providing real value to clients .
Always involved in what is going on locally and nationally , TIS keeps its ears to the ground , sourcing opportunities and assisting clients .
And due to the growth of the company after securing numerous contracts from the huge local investment , the shareholders have now made a bold decision to invest a seven-figure sum in purchasing major assets such as : > A brand-new Volvo hook loader truck > Tube and fittings scaffold equipment
Meeting – TIS management team members Marty Brennan , Kevin Heilbron , Andrew Byron and John Wanless .
> Special coatings plant and equipment > A central metalwork fabrication facility > Storage facilities > Additional vehicles
THE FUTURE This table shows the growth in the business for 12-month periods since 2018 . The first significant increase was in 2021 , when the business changed to a multidisciplined support services provider . However , annual growth since then demonstrates the company ’ s success . March 2019 : £ 185,000 March 2020 : £ 650,000 March 2021 : £ 1.27m December 2021 : £ 2.98m December 2022 : £ 6.05m December 2023 : £ 10.1m December 2024 ( Forecast ): £ 15m The forecast for 2024 indicates another 45 per cent growth , which , at the time of writing , TIS believes will be achieved .
The vast majority of the firm ’ s growth has been associated with securing major single or multi-discipline contracts for services on projects .
Teamwork – TIS employees Damian Crammen , left , and Matt Peverell .
Its medium-to-long-term target is to secure additional , high-profile contracts but to also win term-maintenance contracts and framework agreements from major blue-chip clients .
Kevin said : “ Reviewing the company ’ s past and current position , the board of directors firmly believes the business will expand consistently and become a £ 50m- £ 60m business in the next five years .
“ This growth will require additional investment from the shareholders , aided by the shareholders not taking dividends and just reinvesting the profits from the business .
“ The expansion we are experiencing underscores the imperative of developing a succession plan to seamlessly transition key senior figures within the organisation .
“ This strategy not only ensures continuity but also unlocks significant avenues for our team members to advance their careers internally , eliminating the necessity of seeking comparable roles externally .
“ Our growth to date and in the future has been , and will be , greatly assisted by the investment in our region , and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in bringing the Teesworks and the freeport to our area .
“ At last , the people of the UK are looking at the region rather than looking away .”
