THE PAST The inception of Teesside Industrial Services ( NGA ) dates back to 2018 , when it was founded by Gary King and Martin Brennan as a single-source rope access company . However , in October 2020 , a fateful reunion between TIS ’ s managing director Gary King and former colleague Kevin Heilbron marked a pivotal moment for the company .
With shared histories as former directors and shareholders of Opus Industrial Services , the duo decided to embark on a collaborative venture to elevate TIS from being a rope access company to a comprehensive multidiscipline industrial support services firm .
The first recruits – Andrew Byron ( commercial and financial ) and John Wanless ( operations and scaffolding ) – were tasked with essential leadership roles across a variety of areas , becoming board directors and shareholders in late 2020 / 21 .
Kevin Heilbron , senior operations director , said : “ From board directors to senior managers , contract managers , general managers , supervision and operatives , our team comprises handpicked individuals who were top ranked in their roles .”
Kevin emphasised TIS ’ s commitment to fostering diversity and innovation , which is exemplified by the recruitment of Isaac James , hailing from the USA , as digital marketing and social media manager .
He said : “ Isaac brings a wealth of experience , having previously served as the marketing , design and PR director at a private university in the States .
“ The rapid growth of the business has required TIS to secure the services of several new senior managers , as well as younger individuals joining via apprenticeships .”
