Meeting customer needs and providing an exceptional quality service has always been paramount to the Aircon Group .
But in order to ensure they continue to do this , some of the team took time out away from the business to consider what their customers really want . James Farrell , contracts and design manager , says : “ After discussing various questions and covering flip charts with different coloured Post-it notes , we came to the conclusion that providing sustainable solutions is really important to all of our customers , regardless of what industry they work in , the size of the organisation , location or which service we offer .”
Many businesses are striving for net zero and some want to reduce their carbon footprint , while others , who have large contracts with the NHS or public sector , for example , want to become suppliers of choice , but there are so many facts and figures needed some businesses don ’ t know where to start .
The Aircon Group achieved its ISO14001 in December 2022 , and this has become integral to all policies and practices .
In addition , sales and marketing manager Erica Johnson says : “ Mitsubishi Electric , our main supplier , was encouraging us to complete the Committed Carbon Reduction Partner ( CCRP ) accreditation , which they offer to fund in full .
“ We thought if we all got involved in striving to achieve the qualification , then we would be in a better position to support our customers with their carbon-reduction plans .”
Sales executive Ross Cousin says : “ We ask managers to visit sites all the time to quote for jobs or assess issues with refrigeration and air conditioning systems ,

so I loved the idea of creating an easy to complete report they could fill in on-site , but that would give the customer a wealth of information about how sustainable their assets are .”
The report identifies whether equipment is best placed to offer optimum heating and cooling for the area , what gas is in the system and if this could be replaced with lighter , more energy-efficient refrigerants and , after a series of questions , gives the customer an overall rating , from poor to excellent .
