Exciting times for Climatec

Award recognition highlights quality of work

For the second year in a row , Climatec Engineering has been recognised for delivering a highquality installation by a global player on the air conditioning market .

Twelve months on from winning at the first Midea Awards to be held at Reading Football Club , Climatec ’ s directors were in attendance to pick up an even bigger prize .
The Teesside-based commercial air conditioning and gas specialist won the prestigious HVAC Installation of the Year award for 2023 in December .
Climatec had a team of six mechanical HVAC engineers and plumbers involved in the successful project , which had to be completed at the Holland & Barrett Distribution Centre in Burton-on-Trent without disruption .
Climatec was awarded the project after winning a competitive tender . The project was delivered working with Holland & Barrett ’ s appointed construction consultant MAC Construction Consultants .
MAC provided project management , costs management and principal designer services on the project and worked with Climatec to deliver the project on programme and on budget .
And Climatec ’ s co-founder Neil Gilsenan said : “ It was part of a full office refurb requiring air con throughout and a full toilet block refurbishment too .
“ This had to be completed with zero disruption to Holland & Barrett so we completed the work out of hours when the centre was closed . They were able to continue business as usual , serving Europe .
“ What has been nice is that the quality of our work on the job has been recognised and that Midea visited the site to see the completed project – they were very impressed .
“ It is always nice when you are recognised in this way . Climatec are delighted that their client was happy with the work carried out by their engineers .”
Hundreds were at Reading FC to see Neil and Paul Greensmith , who set up the business together seven years ago , honoured on behalf of the team .
The success provides plenty of encouragement for another successful year at Climatec , which is based at Kirthleatham Business Park , Redcar .
A year earlier , Climatec claimed the Best Air Conditioning Installer Award for their high-quality work in installing nine of Midea ’ s systems on a 106,000-sq ft retail site on the south coast .
“ It was just a lovely night ,” said Paul . “ We went down with our partners and , as football fans , it was nice to be at an awards night that was football themed in many ways because it was at Reading FC and has strong connections with other clubs such as Manchester City .”
After reporting year-on-year growth again , Climatec ’ s leadership team is already excited for what should lie ahead for the rest of 2024 .
It has have recently recruited a couple of

commercial gas engineers and another air conditioning engineer .
Paul said : “ This year shows no signs of slowing down and we have just recorded the busiest start to our financial year we have ever had in terms of orders secured and projects .
“ We have added to our workforce and we are still looking to add more , in both engineering and administration roles . We have just closed out two big projects in London .
“ We obviously still do a lot of bread and butter work in the Teesside area too , such as repair services and call outs .”
Climatec is currently working on a large four-storey office block refurbishment in the centre of Newcastle , where it also recently fitted out a new coffee shop .
Neil said : “ We are tendering more than ever , building new relationships with clients across the country . It ’ s stressful and exciting at the same time .
“ Off the back of all our hard work we are collecting awards and I think that ’ s a reflection of the hard work that goes into this company .
“ The award was nice because we could sit back in a lovely environment and enjoy it .”
And Paul added : “ The award provides a good reminder of what we do and allows us to be proud of what Climatec has achieved as a team – making the sleepless nights worthwhile .”
