New mobile data centre showroom begins tour

Durata unveiled a new purpose-built modular data centre showroom in London , marking the start of a showcasing tour across Europe .
Thousands of visitors to the annual Data Centre World exhibition at the ExCel got an insight into how the Middlesbrough-based company produces a modular building that can be delivered anywhere in the world .
The 3m x 2.9m x 2.4m cube is equipped with a high-security door , keypad access , CCTV , overhead busways as well as a modular uninterruptible power supply ( UPS ), IT racks , high-density rear door cooling units and in-rack intelligent PDUs .
In a newly formed partnership with Legrand , the global electrical and digital infrastructure specialist helped with the fit-out and both organisations were present at Data Centre World to highlight the importance of effective modular data centres .
Lewis Cobb , Durata ’ s head of modular data centre projects , said : “ The showroom has been designed to be an immersive experience , with an exploded view that you can walk inside .
“ We have a touch screen TV mounted into an IT rack where there are digital models of other modular solutions we provide .
“ Our clients can interact with a variety of solutions for critical power and digital infrastructure . It is all covered .
“ This has been entirely built on Teesside , showcasing exactly how our infrastructure can execute .
“ The idea of this was to exhibit a physical model to show our engineering capabilities and execution , while also being mobile enough to live on Teesside before heading to see clients around the world .
“ What is nice about it is that its flexibility means it can be larger depending on clients . Using the same design we can keep scaling it . It isn ’ t fully operational but it does show something tangible rather than computer-aided design models .”
Durata ’ s mobile data centre showroom is an extension of last year ’ s first appearance at Data Centre World , when they took a hologram tower to cleverly illustrate their top 10 solutions .
In critical power , Durata concentrates on UPS , switchrooms , hyper-power infrastructure , diesel generators and battery energy storage solutions .
And across the digital infrastructure market there is a focus on data centre infrastructures , edge computing , high-density computing , immersion technologies and Telco infrastructures .
This time around the mobile showroom caught the eye of the vibrant data centre community , with industry leaders in the capital for an immersive experience at the epicentre of infrastructure advancement .
Having appeared in London , the mobile Durata showroom will now be making its way to Germany for the Data Centre World Frankfurt in May and later this year it will be in Spain for Data Centre World Madrid .
Lewis said : “ London was the grand unveiling . We now have a portable showroom travelling around Europe .
“ It showcases what Durata can typically build and the internal equipment caters for highdensity computing and the incoming expansion of the data centre market due to AI .
