Launching a business ‘ a noble thing ’
A PR boss says he sponsored a category at the Best New Tees Business Awards because starting up a business “ is a noble thing ”.
Graham Robb , senior partner at Recognition PR , backed the Standout Achievement category at the awards .
And Graham – pictured with Tees Business account manager Carol Makepeace – hopes all the award winners go on to do great things in the business world – “ because that will elevate us all ”.
He said : “ I ’ m supporting these awards because starting a new business is a noble thing – if your risk pays off , it is not just you who benefits . Creating jobs and economic activity helps society as a whole . I want the new businesses celebrated by these awards to go on to further success , because that will elevate us all .”

As a relative newcomer itself , Middlesbrough-based internal refurbishment business WCS Interiors says it knows all about the “ trials and tribulations ” of being a startup – which is why the firm was so happy to be a category sponsor for the Best New Tees Business Awards .
WCS sponsored the battle to be the Best New Hospitality Business .

Yarm-based high-end wood flooring firm Wood Connexions gave its support to the local services sector with its sponsorship of the Best New Tees Business Awards .

A recruitment specialist said the chance to sponsor a Best New Tees Business Award was “ an offer we couldn ’ t refuse ”.
Darlington-based Imperial Recruitment Group sponsored the Best New Manufacturing Business category .
Director Anthony Antoniou explained : “ As a Teesside-based business , we are extremely passionate about our region , so the opportunity to sponsor emerging businesses was one we simply couldn ’ t refuse .
“ Teesside is an extremely exciting region to be linked with . Having the freeport here on our doorstep has really put us on the map .
“ This , coupled with some of the other inward investment strategies , means we feel our region is one of the best in the country for new businesses to consider home .”
Giving its backing to trailblazers
Teesside University continued its steadfast support for “ the next generation of creative trailblazers ” with its third consecutive sponsorship of the Creative category at the Best New Tees Business Awards .
Head of enterprise Steve Dougan – pictured with Tees Business sales manager Chris Garbutt – explained that Teesside University was “ delighted ” to sponsor the “ prestigious ” Best New Creative Business category .
“ With a rich history of fostering creative entrepreneurship , we ’ ve consistently championed innovative ventures , providing vital support and guidance ,” he said . “ This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to empowering the next generation of creative trailblazers .”
