Cornerstone Group knows just how important the recognition that comes from events such as the Best New Tees Business Awards can be for future business success – which is why it ’ s showing support with a category sponsorship .
Cornerstone garnered multiple awards in 2009 , laying the groundwork for huge success and expansion . Its goal now is to enable new firms in the area to experience similar success – which is the reason they backed the Sole Trader category .

Long-standing Tees recruitment specialist Westray Recruitment Group was “ delighted ” to sponsor a category at the third annual Best New Tees Business Awards .
Westray sponsored the Best New Entrepreneur category , which recognised rising stars in the Tees Valley business community who , despite only having been launched within the past three years , are taking their businesses to the next level .
Westray Recruitment Group commercial director Ashleigh Wright , pictured with Tees Business account manager Carol Makepeace , said : “ The sponsorship allows us to celebrate and support innovation and tenacity in the business world .
“ Recognising and empowering emerging entrepreneurs not only drives economic growth , but it also inspires others to pursue their dreams .”
Security specialist Vistech Services said it was “ honoured ” to notch up its hat-trick of sponsoring a Best New Tees Business award .
Vistech – whose operations director Paul Heeran is pictured with Tees Business director Dave Allan – has sponsored the Best New Community Champions category since the Best New Tees Business Awards began .
Managing director Chris Taylor said : “ We have witnessed first hand the quality of the finalists and winners , their stories and the positive impact their work and initiatives have made across the Tees Valley during this time .
“ Therefore , it is an honour to sponsor a category that recognises companies who support our community .”
We ’ ve been there ourselves
The sponsor of a category at the Best New Tees Business Awards said it knows how difficult it can be to start up . HR Alchemy sponsored the Most Original New Business category at the awards .
And explaining its support , the MD of Yarm-based HR Alchemy , Jo Davies – pictured left with Tees Business director Dave Allan – said it ’ s because of the boost they can give start-ups .
Recalling how she started her business after redundancy from British Steel , Jo said : “ HR Alchemy is eager to support the growth of new businesses on Teesside .
“ Having been there ourselves , we appreciate how difficult this journey can be and by supporting these awards , we feel we are giving them the best chance of success in our region .”
