Fire protection company takes on second site and creates 20 jobs

NEW MANDALE DEVELOPMENT READY FOR OCCUPANCY

Property development specialist Mandale Group is bringing a dynamic business park to Urlay Nook , Eaglescliffe , with the first tenants now settling in .

The anticipated development offers “ prime hybrid units ” for businesses in a location offering convenient access to Middlesbrough , Darlington , Yarm and surrounding areas .
With excellent commuter links , including Teesside International Airport and major roadways such as the A19 and A66 , the development serves as a gateway to a vast market , providing many opportunities for tenants .

The Urlay Nook development features 21 hybrid units , each spanning approximately 1,600 square feet . From trades , vets and food production to gyms , beauty and photographers , the units have been designed to accommodate the needs of Mandale ’ s varied clientele .
They were built with expansion in mind , especially for start-ups outgrowing their home garage , SMEs wanting an upgrade and larger-scale companies that require local hubs .
The properties are equipped with services such as electricity , water and internet connectivity , with each service being individually metered , granting tenants control over their own consumption .
Leasing terms for the hybrid units are available on a new full repairing and insuring lease basis , providing tenants with flexibility and peace of mind .
A passive fire protection company with almost 50 years of history has acquired a second site in the Tees region to support its continued growth , while also creating new jobs in the area .
Barrier Fire Protection , which is headquartered in Wallsend , has invested in a site at Haverton Hill in Stockton to increase workshop capacity , something which has become necessary to service growing off-site passive fire protection demands .
Barrier Fire Protection recently completed a fireproofing project at the Haverton Hill site for export to a Belgian construction site – keeping Teesside firmly on the map as a home of specialist industry .
Council reveals multi-million pound Preston Park revamp plans
Plans have been unveiled that will see Preston Park Museum transformed into a modern , innovative and inspiring visitor experience with improved facilities .
The developments will include an extension to the existing museum , creating a large , flexible exhibition space and visible collection stores .
A park café and toilet refurbishments are also included in the plans .
The transformation is being funded after the council secured £ 20m for improvements to Yarm and Eaglescliffe from the Levelling Up Fund .
The new two-storey extension will be to the west of the existing museum building and will create stores that are open for the public to explore .
£ 7.1m state-of-the-art teaching block opened
A new teaching block named after British astronaut Tim Peake has officially opened at Egglescliffe School and Sixth Form .
Stockton Council funded the £ 7.1m building as part of its £ 57.7m schools investment programme .
The 32-classroom block includes zero carbon technologies in the design and purpose-built facilities for art and music .
The three-storey building also houses the geography , maths , RE and history departments , the school dining room and a special educational needs suite .
Headteacher Lindsay Oyston said : “ The opening of the Peake building has been instrumental in providing a high-quality learning environment for both current and future generations of students .”
Tees transformer firm set for growth thanks to £ 50k grant
A Teesside firm is looking to new markets for growth after receiving more than £ 50,000 in grant support from Tees Valley Combined Authority .
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen visited Carroll and Meynell ’ s upgraded manufacturing facilities at its Eaglescliffe site after receiving £ 54,360 from the Tees Valley Business Growth Fund , which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund .
Established in the early 1970s by former ICI workers Bob Carroll and Mike Meynell , Carroll and Meynell designs and produces specialist electrical transformers and power solutions for industry . The upgrade has seen the firm employ additional workers at the site .
