Expansion continues for Teesside Rigging & Lifting

Teesside Rigging & Lifting recognised that from the start – 2008 , to be precise , when managing director Steve Smith founded a firm that has gone on to build an enviable reputation for hard work , quality and honesty .
Fifteen years down the line and the firm is the trusted training arm of TRL Group .
And with two new contract wins in recent months , the continued growth and strategic plans are still on course for Teesside Rigging & Lifting .
The specialist contractor , which covers rigging , lifting , steel erecting and site services , is well-established on the domestic and international scenes – and as TRL Group settles into its new home in the Wilton Centre , it ’ s well-placed to secure a stronger foothold in its home region , Teesside .
With several recent contract wins to support shutdowns and maintenance scopes , along with phase two as principal contractor on a reactor refurbishment , those plans are starting to take shape .
However , the ambitious Teesside company won ’ t be resting on its laurels – and it ’ s confident the wide-ranging training programmes it provides access to will prove a winning formula when it comes to retaining clients and attracting new ones .
As well as providing accredited training and coaching , it also supplies onsite supervision for all rigging , lifting and construction operations , as well as on-the-job training and assessments .
And according to Steve Smith , investing in training “ isn ’ t just important to any company – it ’ s vital ”.
He told Tees Business : “ In the UK and many locations globally , it is a statutory requirement , and a minimum part of the safe system of work , that all rigging and lifting operations are properly planned and supervised and carried out by competent people .
“ With the correct training in place , the workforce becomes more competent and safety-orientated while also gaining recognised qualifications .
“ The benefit for the employing company who have invested in their workforce is that they gain properly trained and competent personnel .”
