The TekGroup stable of companies is set for continued success thanks to its wide range of expertise in modern construction methods .
Specialising in subcontract , light gauge and hot rolled steel installation , there ’ s more than six decades of steel erecting experience within the business
The story began in 2017 , when director Paul Hutchinson established Tekbuild , and the business has gone from strength to strength in the six years that have followed .
Delivering the highest quality light gauge steel ( LGS ), its service includes designing , engineering , manufacturing and erecting structures across the UK .
Since then , and after a consistent record of success with its clients , TekBuild has expanded its reach into manufacturing and turnkey projects .
Its TekFrame division offers the manufacturing arm to its services , specialising in forming pre-panelised frames and factory-fitted boarding for the construction industry .
TekContracting , a turnkey main contractor , was created in 2020 and takes the client from a concept all the way through to fitting that last lightbulb in a finished development .
The result is that TekGroup is now made up of three companies that offer a comprehensive suite of services , from tendering through to the very end of a project .
And it ’ s thanks to that complete service that TekGroup is rapidly taking over , with sites up and down the UK , from Gatwick Airport in the south of England to a hospital in Aberdeen in the north of

But the firm is a true Teesside success story , with all office employees living no more than 20 miles away from its HQ .
Of course , it has the benefit of operating out of a hotspot for construction and business – and TekBuild says Middlesbrough ’ s excellent location is one of the reasons business is booming .
“ I ’ m incredibly proud of the growth from the companies in TekGroup ,” says Paul .
“ Not only is it a great achievement for us as a team , but also it ’ s fantastic that as we are quickly expanding , we are able to offer a vast range of employment for people in the local community where I was brought up and still live .
“ TekGroup has more than 30 employees , whose skill sets are each unique and invaluable to the company . “ We pride ourselves on having an extremely strong team who are always at hand to help .”
One of TekBuild ’ s most recent projects was creating a luxury home nestled under one of Teesside ’ s most famous landmarks , Roseberry Topping .
The build took place over three months , with the Teesside winter weather not being too forgiving for the labourers , but TekBuild had no complaints from the happy client , who is now planning the internal components of their dream home .
“ The client came to TekBuild with a vision in mind of their dream three-storey house , and with the help of our friends and architectural practice at Total Planning Solutions ( UK ) who designed this beautiful self build , we made that dream come true ,” says Paul .
The finished house is extremely ecofriendly thanks to the various ways the firm is able to insulate its LGS system .
The project was led by TekBuild , which joined forces with its sister company , TekFrame , supplier of the steel frames required .
The combination of LGS and hot rolled steel provided large open plan areas and vaulted roof spaces for TekGroup ’ s client to enjoy family life , with fantastic views of the area .
And Paul says he thoroughly enjoyed overseeing the development , which he led from start to finish .
“ It ’ s not just the stunning location that made working on the project so special ,” he says .
“ It ’ s also seeing the life this luxury home will bring to the area and the happiness it will give the families who will enjoy the amazing space .”
