New eco-friendly heating system can reduce energy costs for Tees businesses
At a time of rapidly rising energy prices , it ’ s vital that businesses find cost-effective solutions to heating their buildings . That ’ s especially true in the case of industrial workspaces that are difficult to heat efficiently and effectively .
So it ’ s a good job innovative Teessidebased firm X-Heat has developed a radical – and very timely – solution called NANO- HEAT infrared space heating technology .
Company director Tom McGee points out that his product is far less harmful to the environment when compared with a traditional workspace heating system . And , as an additional bonus , it is significantly cheaper to run . It ’ s clearly a win-win solution .
“ NANO-HEAT is all about reducing carbon emissions and reducing energy costs for businesses that have space heating requirements ,” explains Tom .
“ The aftermath of the pandemic has seen many businesses looking for ways to reduce operational costs . X-Heat offers organisations significant reductions in heating costs with flexible purchasing options .
“ Replacing existing hot air and radiant tube heaters with X-Heat ’ s infrared system will provide customers with a benefit of a 50 per cent reduction in energy usage and an 80 per cent reduction in greenhouse emissions .
“ In addition to the cost and emissions benefits , X-Heat ’ s technology comes hydrogen-ready , thereby future-proofing the customer from further costly investment .
“ No mechanical retrofits are required to accommodate the switch to cleaner hydrogen , eliminating disruption for the customer later down the road when it ’ s time to switch .
“ We hope to reach out to many more regional businesses in the coming months to provide them with cheaper , greener and safer working environments .”
Industrial workspaces don ’ t always require the same level of heating across their entire floor space .
Some zones are unoccupied , others are near open loading bay doors and others can be adjacent to heat-producing machinery . It ’ s rarely a case of one-sizefits-all when it comes to heating a large space .
An advantage of X-Heat is the infrared heaters can be placed where they are needed . And , thanks to the technology , they are far more efficient at heating the designated space because more of the heat gets to where it ’ s required .
“ A small industrial unit or a large manufacturing plant would typically be heated by hot air blowers or radiant heaters ,” says Tom . “ What NANO-HEAT does is replace those appliances with zonal heaters .
“ If you look at the floorplan of a lot of factories , they don ’ t need to heat every single square metre of the factory . They may have welding bays , assembly areas or a goods-in area .
“ With a traditional heating system you get a lot of heat loss – a lot of the heat ends up in the roof , not where you want it . So , for the amount of fuel you burn , you only get a relatively small amount of heat directed back out into the workspace at floor level where it ’ s needed .
“ Our product is focused on heating each space with zonal heating . NANO-HEAT uses a tried and tested flameless infrared technology that is relatively unheard of in the heating industry but has been around for a long time . We ’ re bringing it to a different application to provide low-cost clean thermal comfort .
“ It is gas-powered but it is completely flameless and the advantage of it being flameless means it doesn ’ t produce nitrous oxide , which is extremely harmful to the environment .
“ X-Heat offers a product that can significantly reduce energy consumption – and with the price of energy going through the roof , it ’ s a no-brainer !”
All of the firm ’ s infrared heaters are produced to provide safe flameless heat and are tested for performance before being dispatched .
