Record sales recorded by Tees Titan

Despite the generally unfavourable economic climate and cost-ofliving crisis , Cleveland Cable Company posted the largest turnover in its history , resulting in recordsetting net profits , the firm says .

The Middlesbrough-based company ’ s employee base – the majority of whom live within 10 miles of the branch they work at – also grew to its highest numbers ever , reaffirming Cleveland Cable ’ s commitment to providing long-term jobs .
As part of this growth , the firm has built on the momentum gained over preceding years in quality assurance by achieving ISO 45001 accreditation in health and safety .
“ This certification is a major milestone towards bringing our health and safety , environment and quality manuals into line with PAS99 ,” said Cleveland Cable ’ s group QSHE manager Jason Hodgkinson .
“ Our transport fleet , upon which the business is heavily reliant , is now comprised of vehicles 70 per cent of which are accredited to FORS Silver standard .
“ With FORS guidance and training , we will shortly have a fully compliant fleet of trucks , in line with CLOCS and WRRR .”
Cleveland Cable ’ s branch network itself is undergoing a constant upgrade and improvement regime .
And the firm says its crowning achievement of 2022 was the realisation of plans for a state-of-the-art distribution and storage facility based in Sixfields , Northampton ( pictured ), with groundbreaking taking place last December before an estimated 30-week build .
“ This new depot will become the base of operation for nearby Cleveland Cable Milton Keynes , cementing the company ’ s ties into the Midlands ,” added Jason .
“ In culmination with all of the above , we continue to embrace our responsibilities by furthering investment in our sustainability policies and setting out a pathway to net zero carbon emissions by 2050 .
“ Measures already undertaken include commissioning electric vehicles for our local city centre delivery fleet , plus ongoing renovation of our office and warehouse buildings , which includes the installation of solar panels .
“ Combined , these steps put us on track to maximise our renewable energy yield in line with UK Government targets for 2030 and 2050 .
“ Ever mindful of the complicated economic picture in the short and long term yet focused on the core business model , and loyal customer base we ’ ve nurtured over our 45-year history , we aim for continued success , growth , and development in both this year and those to come .”
