David Jeffery will be responsible for helping small- and medium-sized companies achieve their growth aspirations by offering funding solutions from NPIF – FW Capital Debt Finance , which is managed by FW Capital and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund ( NPIF ).
David has more than 30 years of experience in the business banking sector . Before joining FW Capital , he spent 26 years with Virgin Money Commercial Banking , including a period as the credit executive for the North-East .
More recently , he was the relationship manager working with SMEs with a turnover up to £ 30m across the region , covering a diverse range of sectors . He will be based at FW Capital ’ s Wynyard office .
Phoebe Moran , JMAC Safety Systems Stockton-based JMAC Safety Systems has announced the promotion of office manager Phoebe Moran to safety systems contracts manager .
The company ’ s first female signing to such a role , Phoebe is already making her mark .
A familiar figure on site , Phoebe is responsible for leading site safety decking installation teams and organising resources to ensure the efficient and timely completion of installation and dismantling works .
Lucy Smith , Richard Birley & John Fernie , Materials Processing Institute
The Materials Processing Institute has announced appointments to three key senior management roles .
Professor John Fernie takes the newly created role of chief materials scientist to support the delivery of multi-millionpound decarbonisation projects , including the development of new materials and processes required for future technologies .
Dr Richard Birley takes up the role as group manager , advanced materials , while Dr Lucy Smith takes up the role of group manager , circular economy .
Dr Smith joined the institute in 2020 as a principal researcher , later becoming technical collaboration lead , before moving into a senior management position .
She will lead the development of innovations maximising resource efficiency through manufacturing and process optimisation .
Rob Lankey , GB Bank Middlesbrough-based GB Bank has recruited a new chief commercial officer as it ramps up operations after the granting of its full UK banking licence .
Veteran industry figure Rob Lankey joins the UK ’ s newest fully authorised bank after more than 30 years in the financial
services sector .
Rob has worked in a wide range of organisations in the specialist lending and banking industry and has launched , built and grown sever short- and long-term lending businesses .
He was one of the four start-up members of Aldermore Bank , held senior positions at Shawbrook Bank and Amicus Finance and was also the CEO of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers .
Earlier in his career , at the age of 28 , Rob was the youngest-ever executive manager at the Norwich & Peterborough Building Society .
Rob joins GB Bank from specialist property finance company Chordis Capital along with three key members of his team , assistant relationship manager Jacqueline Prentice , relationship manager John Pointer and underwriter Jeveria Tazim .
Lyn Charters , Able UK Able UK has appointed a new legal director and company secretary .
Lyn Charters , who began her career as an engineer and subsequently moved into the legal profession , has taken on the senior role with Able .
She joins the Teesside-based group from Keepmoat Homes , where she held the post of general counsel and company secretary .
In her early career Lyn , who graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Leeds , worked as a chartered engineer with Carl Bro Grontmij ( now Sweco ) involved in national and international projects , before she qualified as a solicitor with Squire Patton Boggs LLP in its real estate practice .
