Mandale Group set to make itself at home in brand new HQ
property group that began life manufacturing snooker tables is making its biggest break yet – by investing in a plush new home of its own .
And for Mandale Group , its impressive new HQ at Urlay Nook will be a huge statement of confidence in its future .
Stockton-based Mandale Group began life in the 1980s as Stockton Pool and Snooker , making top-class tables for clubs across the country as the green baize boom took off .
But when the sport ’ s popularity started to wane slightly , the company – having itself moved premises several times – changed tack to move into the commercial property field .
It was an inspired move . Thirty years on , it ’ s an established property development group , building accommodation ranging from homes to offices , shops , leisure facilities and warehouses .
It has two divisions – Mandale Business , which delivers quality business space , and Mandale Homes , which provides a choice of new homes across the north of England , including a recent bungalow development in

Mandale Group is based just off the A19 on Stockton ’ s North Tees Industrial Estate – but not for much longer . Work has already begun at Urlay Nook , near Eaglescliffe , to construct a 15,000-sq ft office , with a 25,000-sq ft warehouse on the same site .
It ’ s hoped the new complex will be ready early next year . And according to Mandale Group commercial property manager Harriet Spalding , it ’ s a huge vote of confidence in the region .
She said : “ We ’ ve outgrown our current home , so we have planning in place to build a new hi-spec office for ourselves .
“ With the Teesside Freeport coming in and everything like that , and the way Teesside Airport is growing , Urlay Nook will be a great place to have a base .
“ The connectivity around Teesside now has improved massively . It doesn ’ t matter if you ’ re in Stockton , Middlesbrough , anywhere , the connectivity is there – so to be able to buy the land to build our new head office exactly to the spec and space we need to provide us with room for future growth is fantastic .
