Big day – discussions between leading local businesswomen at a previous International Women ’ s Day event at Teesside University .

SIGN UP TO SUPPORT TEES WOMEN ’ S FESTIVAL

Businesses , schools , colleges and charities are being invited to sign up and take part in a week-long Tees Valley Festival for International Women ’ s Day .
Teesside University , Tees Valley Combined Authority and local businesses including Just Williams , Darlington Building Society and PD Ports are collaborating on the festival under the title of # BreakTheBias .
They hope the festival is something the whole Tees Valley will support by either linking into events organised by the group or advertising their events on the festival ’ s webpage .

well-known Teesside charity marked its tenth anniversary by raising £ 66,000 for worthy local causes at its annual ball , while also revealing a new name and logo .
Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation , which has raised more than £ 4m across the region since 2011 , is now known as The Teesside Charity .
The charity was set up by Andy Preston , now Middlesbrough ’ s mayor , and Tanya Garland of Cool Blue in 2011 , and is now backed by a Who ’ s Who of local business names including Bulkhaul , Cleveland Cable Company , AV Dawson , Devereux Transport and Distribution , Middlesbrough College , Active Chartered Financial Planners , Erimus Insurance Brokers , Racz Group , Azets , Archers Law and PD Ports .
Around 570 Teessiders attended the ball at Wynyard Hall ’ s Grand Marquee – the first time in almost two years that supporters of the Teesside institution had gathered
It remains vital that young girls have female role models who they can look up to and aspire to emulate .

Those leading the project are looking to involve businesses , schools , colleges , key partners , keynote speakers , stakeholders and nominated charities .

Comeback ball heralds new name and look for charity

STEEL DEAL Teesside steel company Paralloy has secured a £ 15m funding package from Santander UK , with an 80 per cent guarantee from UKEF to support its exportled growth .

£ 40K FUNDING HELP An outfitting and industrial services contractor is implementing its plans to grow and provide services to British , Canadian and Australian navies , thanks to funding secured in the Tees region .
Barrier Architectural Services , which is based in Wynyard , has been awarded a grant of £ 40,000 through the Tees Valley Business Growth Fund , thanks to the help of Middlesbrough-based Nudl .
TECH BOOST A groundbreaking project has won funding to explore how the Teesport operator can use the latest digital technology to more effectively manage its power consumption .
The £ 285,420 collaborative research project , Vertically Integrated Cloud-Based Ports , will be delivered by partners PD Ports at Teesport , Teesside University , lead partner GE and Connected Places Catapult .
