Bosses of an ambitious Teesside firm with a national portfolio of projects are again searching for new recruits who share their desire to expand .

Steel River Cost & Project Management ( SRCPM ) was established four years ago and has already achieved a well-earned reputation for providing a specialised service for a wide range of clients across the UK .
The thriving company enables a client to successfully complete a construction project by providing step-by-step guidance from the planning stage to completion .
Current projects in an extensive portfolio include a New Marske housing scheme , an eight-classroom Middlesbrough school extension , a new veterinary practice in South Tyneside and the installation of a sprinkler system for a Welsh business .
SRCPM , which is based at Preston Farm Industrial Estate , Stockton , and boasts a satellite office in Redcar , also has ambitious plans for the future , as founding director Gary Marshall explains .
“ We want to get more talented people into our business to work on the projects that we already have and the new projects that we are winning , but also to bring in new skill sets that will enable us to open up to new markets and sectors ,” he told Tees Business .
“ We ’ re a happy team ,” he added . “ We ’ re all comfortable working with each other and bouncing ideas off each other and we want like-minded people to come and join us . The business is growing and developing , it ’ s an exciting place to work so our message is , ‘ Come and be part of it ’.”
Recent recruits Ben Tremewan and Naomi Atherton are , according to Gary , already making a big impact with SRCPM .
“ Naomi is a senior project manager who has worked across all sectors , but over the last few years has specialised in historic buildings and the cultural sector . That skill set not only allows her to work on projects that we already have on the books , but also enables us to take on projects which include historic buildings ,” he said . “ Thanks to Naomi ’ s expertise , we are expanding into new areas .
“ Ben is a quantity surveyor who is young and enthusiastic . He ’ s just finished his degree and is now aiming to complete his journey to becoming a chartered surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors ( RICS ).
“ Part of the reason Ben joined was because we are a growing , dynamic practice and he can help to shape the business as we move forward . He has his own ideas and we ’ re listening to his suggestions and incorporating them . He joined us at the start of October and is already making his mark and subsequently making a difference .”

JOBS

The key to SRCPM ’ s success so far is deceptively simple . In a nutshell , it entails giving the client exactly what they want .
“ We all have a background in the big , multi-national organisations , but we all moved away from that because we , as an independent company , can tailor our service to our client ’ s needs ,” said Gary .
“ We don ’ t tell them what they are going to get , they tell us what they need and that ’ s what we deliver , using our vast experience and skills in doing so . It ’ s a bespoke service designed to fulfil the client ’ s exact requirements .”
Going into more detail on SRCPM ’ s day-to-day duties , he added : “ We tend to focus on clients with a property portfolio or an estate . We work on existing estates , like a school or college wanting to expand , and with clients who might want a brandnew building or facility .
“ Our clients are businesses with their own responsibilities , so we support by managing the contracts , the funding and the builders on their behalf . Through us , the client can understand how much the project is going to cost every step of the way - it ’ s a process that works well .”
