Fabrication specialist acquires one of Tees region ’ s largest workshops
MAKING PROGRESS
N ational fabrication and engineering group Tulway has arrived on Teesside with the acquisition of a prominent fabrication workshop . The workshop , on Sotherby Road , Middlesbrough , will continue to support the firm ’ s existing clients , as well as offering a full range of fabrication and extended project services to businesses across the UK .
The deal sees Tulway take ownership of one of the largest fabrication units in the area , with 30,000 sq ft of workshop space and 20-tonne overhead lifting capacity , as well as securing long-term supply agreements .
The move also secures the future of the existing 23 jobs at the Middlesbrough site , which is Tulway ’ s second UK premises , alongside its headquarters in Knowsley , Merseyside .

Managing director Kevin Tully says that alongside the opportunities presented by Brexit and the sustainability agenda , the Middlesbrough operation will help the company embark on a substantial period of growth over the next five years .
He said : “ This acquisition will see the Tulway group embark on an ambitious period of growth that will include investment at both our sites , creating the opportunity to grow our presence in the North-East and expand our fabrication services across the UK . It will also secure our status as a significant mechanical engineering services provider in the UK .”

Pioneering and agile engineering group Tulway has been supporting companies with fabrication , mechanical installation and site maintenance services for almost 25 years .

The family-run business supports work with National Grid and has also worked with a host of prestigious clients including Saint-Gobain , Stellantis and SNF . It also recently completed the installation of the world ’ s first commercial CryoBattery storage plant in Bury for Highview Power , appearing in the 2019 / 20 Parliamentary Review for engineering best practice .
