Middlesbrough ’ s Industrial Technology Systems ( ITS ) is this year sponsor of the Charity / Voluntary category .
MD Malcolm Knott said : “ ITS get involved in sponsorships to encourage sectors to shout about their people and their businesses , but the charities sector has had a hard time during Covid .
“ Their income went but their costs remained , so sponsoring this award is our way of recognising the people who commit time to charity work .
“ Lots of people give money to charities but some give more – they give their time for free . Those people impress and inspire me .”
