Celebrating
Halloween
Poem By: Jazlyn Rodriguez

Halloween, Oh Halloween
In your eyes, I can see the gleam
Of your mysteries and frightening things
On this day, people sing
Your song of all the fun you bring
This is a day where you and your friends dress
up
You run, you play, you laugh, you jump
You have your costume planned
Then you step into Halloween Land
You can dress up as anything you want
Just make sure to give your friends a good haunt
Costumes will be seen all the time
You’ll laugh as your friends run by
Your friends will try to sneak up on you
And catch you off-guard as they yell ‘Boo!’
You’ll see spooky things and might get scared
But, don’t forget to breathe in the Autumn air
Your neighbors go all out for this celebration
There are several joyful things in this generation
You see jack-o’-lanterns and scary faces
As you go and visit different places
You’ll see other decorations that leave you
breathless
You’ll have the most fun with your friends and
family that leaves you restless
Some trick-or-treat, and some hang out
All through the night, you’ll hear laughs and
shouts

At night, you eat all the candy you can get
Then you get tired and head off to bed
Halloween is a roller coaster filled with spooks
and fun
It’s a day of frights and laughs for everyone
