“She wasn’t even sure if she wanted to look up or not.”
Violet brought her head back up from her hands, and gave a burning look to it. “You did this!” she yelled.
“You took them away from me!”
The demon still stared down at her.
“You had to choose me, huh?! Take them away! My friends!” Violet kept on yelling and screaming, all
while crying uncontrollably. She let out all of her rage, her fear, her sadness. She got even more frustrated when
the demon just stood there, staring at her with its wide eyes.
“Why don’t you just eat me too, huh? That way you can be completely satisfied with yourself, knowing
you managed to kill four innocent kids!” Violet’s words could only come out in long sobs. She just buried her
face in her hands again, wanting this all to be over already.
Violet couldn’t even begin to comprehend what was happening, when the demon had just stooped down
next to her, and pulled her in for what was probably the scariest hug of her life. For the second time that night,
Violet was blinded by another light, which made her flinch and cover her eyes. She wasn’t even sure if she
wanted to look up or not. She was just about certain she didn’t want to.
“Violet!” several voices screamed at the same time. She nearly jumped, and looked up, to see her friends,
completely safe.
“Guys!” Violet yelled back. Everyone suddenly piled on top of her, squeezing every drop of sadness and
fear out of her. “I thought you died in a demon’s stomach!”
“Same,” Kate muttered.
“Yeah, that experience is something I’d want to forget,” Alan said. “But you guys are alright!” They all
welcomed a warm embrace from the other, not letting go for who knows how long. Everyone had tears streaming
down their eyes, tears of joy that this was finally over.
Nobody noticed how the sun suddenly went down, and the moon took its place, the exact same place it
was last night.
Nobody noticed that the things that had been put out of place, were suddenly in their original places. It
was as if nothing had happened, and the only things remaining were the four kids crying and hugging on the
floor. Almost everything had reversed.
Even with the happy moment going on, Violet had to notice the sharp black horn on the floor. It still had
little white specks floating around it, letting Violet remember. Remember it all.
In my story, Violet and her friends have to battle a vicious demon all throughout
the night, or get eaten alive while doing so. Everybody has to use their wits and bravery
to try and kill the demon. If you were in Violet’s position, what would you do in this
situation? How would you react? Would you run and hide, or stay and fight?
Author’s note: This story is really short and not very detailed, plus I finished it in a
rush. Procrastination always comes as a friend, and ends as an enemy. Oops. Well,
hope you enjoy.
