looked sideways to make sure the coast is clear. Sneaking out on the
cheap Halloween dance was the best idea that Rhen has ever told me in a long
time. As we jumped the fence, “Rhen got her witch skirt caught on the fence”,
and, luckily, her skirt pulled free as the patrol teacher walked around the
corner. I pulled off my football helmet and bolted straight to the woods.
“Hahaha- did you see how much those chips were? I could have bought 2
in the 99 cent store.” I laughed.
“And how those suckers bought those 5$ Halloween suckers!” She teased,
“But really, should we do some halloween dares?”
“I’ll go first, I dare you to jump old man Higgin’s fence and pet Lily.” She
groaned. No one had the guts to jump his house. Even if they did, their guts
would have been torn to shreds by Lily- his German Shepherd.
She held up her hand. “Ok, ok… you got me! What if you go to the dead
mud pit and wade through the whole thing. If you can do that, I’ll buy you all
the candy you want.”
“You drive a hard bargain,” I slapped my hands together. “I’ll do it!” Dead
