Universal wanted more. Sony wanted more. So,
Insomniac made their third and final Spyro game
created for the PS1, Spyro: Year of the Dragon in the year
2000. It gained critical acclaim, but fans still wanted
more. And since Insomniac was getting the least of the
shared money between Universal and Sony, and so they
stopped making Spyro games and sold the Spyro series
to Activision.
That was it for Insomniac and the Spyro series,
but that was only the first of their long line of video
games. The Playstation 2 has just come out and
Insomniac has created their new game for this new
console, called Ratchet and Clank. This series was a
quick successor to Spyro, and it has had a plethora of
sequels after the first, even having a movie in 2016 and a
game based after that movie.
During and after Ratchet and Clank, Insomniac
created more independant games and another series,
called Resistance. Some of these games include
Outernauts, The Unspoken, Song of the Deep, Fuse, Edge
of Nowhere, and their upcoming Spider-Man game in
2018 for the Playstation 4.
In conclusion, Insomniac Games has created two
of the most famous Sony mascots, gone through tough
times, and have made countless of games. I hope that
