Chinese/ Vietnamese Cultures Collided
Over the years, people have been making the assumption that all Asians are the same. They are fooled by the similarities which make you think we live the same lives. Being Vietnamese and learning Chinese, people seem to be interested in knowing if Vietnamese talk the same way as Chinese people and being in the class, made me realize that we are both from different world, but we also live in the same neighborhood. The saying, “your past makes your future” is an understatement to the Vietnamese people. We were placed into order by the Chinese for thousands of years. My people were becoming Chinese, by the order they have placed on us. The domination of making us wear their clothes and speaking their language made us transform into them. We forgot our true identity and who we were. But some things are so similar that we still know what we stand for. Our religions are identical and that didn’t let us change everything, we both worship Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. These are the most popular and here they presently remain by the people of Vietnam and China. The lifestyles the Vietnamese people live are as ancient days, we live by the waters and field of rice.
The population of both countries is an amazing
thing to witness. You ask yourself, how so much people
can fit in a small place. The population of people in China
is 1.351 BILLION, the largest number of people in a country
and it is higher than India’s population rates. The population
of people in Vietnam is 88.78 MILLION, that’s not a big number
as China’s, but now I know that it will be less crowded and
spaces for families and homes, without overpopulating the
limited land we have. The resources on Vietnam may continue,
from the work we do to obtain our current ststus. In China, we
are one of the most powerful, but overpopulated countries in the world and the time we put into the system of life comes with great price. Vietnam and China aren't so different, but they aren't that similar.
