Midwest Section PGA volunteers working the Drive , Chip & Putt qualifying events are crucial to each event ’ s success . At least 14 volunteers , driven by their love for the game and a desire to give back , contribute anywhere from four to eight hours ( or more ) per event . The Section hosted six DCP events this year .

Van Hercke sums it up beautifully : “ The one thing I would say is that in golf , and I see it at all the events — you truly meet amazing people and make friendships that last a lifetime . These kids cheer each other on just as we do in my leagues . I ’ ve made so many great friends and have so many memories from playing golf . It ’ s a sport you can play your entire life .”
As the sun sets on another successful season of Drive , Chip & Putt events in the Midwest , the impact of these competitions continues to resonate .
