Rustick’ s high-tech driving range offers 60 golf bays, 11 of which are covered, and monitors that provide distance, height, ball spin and other statistics.
Of course, no story on The Rustick would be complete without an in-depth look at the upscale restaurant and bar that boasts seating for 120 and a TV that blankets most of one wall. A merchandise area showcases golf bags of Kansas’ most famous golfers, i. e., Tom Watson and Gary Woodland.
The menu features such dinner entrees as pasta, shrimp, salmon, and braised beef tips, along with wings, salads, and smash burgerstyle hamburgers. Many options carry familiar golf names. The Hole-in-One bites are breaded smoked brisket sausage bites with house-made pimento cheese dip; a Bunker Buster is a hamburger with onions, mushrooms, garlic aioli, and a fried egg. Hot dog lovers can choose between“ Dogleg Right and Dogleg Left,” one topped with Chicago-style giardiniera and beer cheese; the other with pimento cheese and house-made tomato jam.
The restaurant is open from 10 a. m.- 9 p. m. Tuesday through Sunday with limited hours on Monday. However, there’ s also a coffee shop called the Mercantile, open from 7 a. m.- 2 p. m., with various breakfast burritos, cinnamon coffee cake, and a croissant sandwich. Drinks include several coffee-based drinks, Italian and crème sodas, and ice cream floats.
While seemingly located amidst Kansas corn and wheat fields between Eudora and Lawrence at the interchange of K-10 and County Road 1057, The Rustick is a focal point for communities such as DeSoto, Baldwin, Eudora, and Lawrence. It is less than 30 minutes from Lenexa and Olathe. Learn more at www. therustick. com.
