PING G440 Max Drivers
Callaway also continues its use of AI tech in the clubface, and this year, it has advanced that further than ever. This increased use of AI gives the golfer tighter shot dispersion and optimizes the launch across the face. Four models are offered in the ELYTE line of drivers, but we feel that the original Elyte model will be the winner for most of the players we fit with new drivers. The ELYTE drivers also have a competitive retail price of $ 599.99. We will be fitting quite a few of these at our Callaway Fitting Days this spring.
TaylorMade Qi35 Drivers
PING Golf gives us the G440 Max line of drivers. PING has also moved the weight around in this driver to maximize distance and forgiveness. PING has done this using a couple of methods. The first thing it did was remove a section of the hosel within the clubhead itself. This allowed it to lower the Center of Gravity( CG) to promote an increase in distance and forgiveness. By using PING’ s Carbon Wrap crown, it can move even more weight to enhance that lower CG. Although there are four models in the G440 lineup, the G440 Max will be the workhorse and appeal to most golfers. With its lower retail price of $ 599, this driver is worth a test drive.

Callaway Golf still stands strong in the driver category and debuts its ELYTE line of drivers. Callaway’ s ELYTE line offers a new lower crown design and heel section. This new design uses better aerodynamics to increase speed throughout the entire swing and not just at impact. Callaway also uses a new“ Thermoforged” carbon crown that allows it to move the weight to the parts of the club that optimizes the CG location, increasing the launch and reducing the spin. Both are key elements to more distance.
We can’ t talk about the driver category without including TaylorMade and its launch of the Qi35 line of drivers. These drivers will appeal to many golfers with varying abilities by giving them increased distance and forgiveness. TaylorMade boasts a“ Near Zero CG” in its drivers that provides us with more distance from more sweet spots on the clubface. This is done by using five different materials: chromium carbon, steel, aluminum, tungsten, and titanium. The technology that goes into these drivers is amazing. A new shape and the ability to move additional weight with the Trajectory Adjustment System further advance these drivers. The Qi35 line of drivers retail for $ 599.99. The TaylorMade Qi35 line of drivers will have players lining up to get fit at Fitting Days.
2025 is going to be an excellent year for trying the new drivers! As always, we encourage you to test these drivers outside on the range before you buy so you can see the full ball flight and properly compare it to your current driver.
Stay tuned for next month’ s issue when we discuss the new 2025 hot irons. Meanwhile, enjoy the new season and your new clubs.
