Hot Drivers for 2025

Get even more distance and accuracy...
by Eddie Hall, Equipment Writer

As we approach another new golf season, getting a new driver seems to be a popular topic. We are looking for that“ magic bullet’ that will give us more distance and allow us to hit the ball straighter. Golf companies know this and are attempting to create a product to address these issues. At least they advertise that the new driver will give us more distance and accuracy. Let’ s look at what some of the most popular brands are marketing in 2025.

The GT2 driver is positioned to work for the bulk of the golfers we fit. These golfers don’ t always find the center of the clubface but still want shots to perform well across the face. This driver has a high MOI but still allows for faster speed.

Titleist introduces its GT line of drivers, which utilize its“ Seamless Thermoform Crown.” The Seamless Thermoform Crown is an ultra-lightweight design that allows Titleist to move the weight around. In previous articles, we have discussed the benefits of moving weight around. This allows the manufacturer to put the weight in the portion of the driver that will best benefit the golfer. Optimal weight placement sets the club up to perform the best it can for the golfer. It also can help enhance the forgiveness of the club across the face.
The GT line of drivers comes in four models. The GT1 driver is the most forgiving model, promoting a higher ball flight with mid-spin. This model works very well for the golfer who has a slower swing speed.
The GT3 and GT4 models are geared to the player who consistently hits the center of the club and wants to“ work” the ball. The GT4 model adds the benefit of significantly reducing the spin of the ball. This fits that golfer who has a hard time keeping the spin rate below 3,000 RPMs. Shots that have a spin rate above 3,000 RPMs produce a shot that we say“ balloons.” Ballooning simply means that the shot is using more of its energy going upward rather than moving forward.
The GT1 driver is Titleist’ s most forgiving model, and works very well for the golfer who has a slower swing speed.
The GT line of drivers retails at $ 649.99 and can be customized— of course, the price will go up with customization.
