Fred also knew every inch of the layout at both golf courses he graced . Tom said , “ He had his favorite spots along the cart path to look for wildlife and his favorite places to relax and enjoy the day .”
Tom and Fred retired from riding in a maintenance cart at the end of 2022 and moved to a more relaxing county-like home . Tom and Fred had been together for 15 years , and old Fred lived a good life with Tom , but like many of our “ Best Friends ,” Fred began showing signs of aging and poor health . Tom cared for , cradled , and pampered his best friend until the very end .
Whether work or a round of golf , Fred knew his place — right next to Tom ( on right ), and he wasn ’ t moving for anyone .

Sadly , Fred passed in mid-July , but he is unquestionably riding enthusiastically in a golf cart in heaven making new friends .
The amount of joy that our pets bring us is amazing . They are family members , in fact , according to a recent survey , some pet owners even value their pets more than family members , placing their pets ’ needs above all others . I can ’ t speak about that regarding Tom , but I am certain he loved Fred fiercely and will dearly miss him . Like any family member or old friend who passes on , we have life-long fond memories of our loved ones and always miss them deeply . Ultimately , we find our peace in knowing , our treasured friend now rests in peace , and we carry our memories forever . Rest well , Fred ; you warmly touched many .
