Women ’ s Golf News

Publinx has been bringing women golfers together to compete and enjoy a variety of courses since 1977 . Golfers play 18 holes at different public courses in the Kansas City metropolitan area , mainly on Monday mornings from April through October . Golfers are grouped into flights based on handicaps , so you compete each week against golfers of similar ability . The competition is both friendly and challenging . Most league members end up in the winner ’ s circle sometime the year .

Players have the flexibility to choose whether they want to play each week . Shotgun starts at either 8 or 9 a . m ., so you ’ ll finish by early afternoon . Members include women who ’ ve played in the association for many years , as well as new people who join each year . It ’ s a nice mix of personalities and abilities . League golfers will follow USGA rules , which sharpens their knowledge and golf discipline . This is a well-organized league with good systems and timely communications .

Play opens at Minor Park on April 10 , with a shotgun start at 9 a . m . There are 24 courses scheduled for play this year — green and cart fees average about $ 40 per week .
