Automation involves every phase of the production cycle, from cutting and punching to bending and panel forming.
AUTOMATION FIRST " The key factor is automation. Just know that we purchased our first Panasonic welding robot in 2000. Everything started from there, as this step must ensure repeatability, precision and quality of workmanship, to the benefit of the final assembly of the products, specifically the containers. These advancements could only be achieved consistently by automating the other steps of the production cycle," explains Bruno Perano, echoed by his nephew Davide, production manager at Perano Spa. " As Bruno said, our automation programme was born from the needs of one client, Nord Engineering, yet TRUMPF machines are important for our entire range of products because they ensure high precision, which is a necessary condition for streamlining the welding processes. As a subcontractor operating in a variety of sectors, Perano must take care of different needs and requests. Being able to rely on a variety of systems, both in terms of technology and solutions, guarantees the versatility needed to do virtually any job. Programming from the engineering department is a key aspect of this, as it allows us to eliminate virtually all idle times. Perano ' s technological evolution is therefore not limited to the introduction of new machines, but also involves enhancing the internal expertise through the integration of automation systems, software and qualified personnel. " All TRUMPF systems we have, including robotic bending and panel forming cells, rely on the TruTops software, which allows us to program all the machines directly from the engineering department, creating an efficient production ecosystem virtually eliminating idle times," continues Davide Perano.
THE BENDING DEPARTMENT IS THE STRONG POINT " Although the two automated TruLaser Center 7030 cutting centres represented a tremendous innovation for us because they made it possible to eliminate the bottleneck caused by part unloading operations,— thanks to their ability to handle individual cut pieces and stack them onto pallets with pinpoint precision, as a result streamlining the other work phases," Davide explains—“ I believe that bending is the true big strength of our company. We can rely on a solid fleet of manual press brakes to manage
