Before I started this course, my views on technology entailed two, contradicting opinions...
First and foremost, I view technology as a huge aid to our daily lives. Technology has changed the way we do many things. In a business setting, technology has allowed globalization, and streamlined processes, saving companies time and money.
From a personal standpoint, technology has allowed us to connect with individuals all over the world, and changed the way we spend our free time. Secondly, I view technology as barrier to genuine personal interaction. Small talk has been replaced by scrolling through social media, gatherings with friends are constantly documented over snapchat and other social media sites, and calling and genuine human interactions have been replaced with texting.
Although I fully agree that the technological innovations that have been introduced to the world have substantial benefits, there is undoubtedly a part of me that longs for a simpler time.
