Tear in the Radio #2 - The Stolen Volume 2 | Page 41
Q. WHAT INSPIRED THE NAME?
TYLER: So, originally there were six band members at our music school in
Walden, New York. We all came from six different backgrounds, like
different tastes in general and genres and what not. And it kind of gave
Six Stores Told a unique sound. Fast forward, throughout the years, with
high school and college, we are now older and more mature and there is
a different lineup and different faces, but Six Stories Told is Six Stories Told.
Forever be growing.
Q. IN REGARDS TO YOUR EP EPILOUGE, YOU’VE RECEIVED A LOT OF GREAT
FEEDBACK. DOES IT FEEL THAT THE HARD WORK HAS FINALLY PAID OFF?
JOANNA: I feel two different vibes to this question. I don’t think we are
ever going to feel like the hard work is done. We always appreciate the
positivity that comes our way because it makes us feel that there is a
purpose to what we are doing. Our music matters to people and our
words matter to people and that means so much but at the same time, it
makes harder to keep everyone interested and impressed. Just to keep
making music that means something to people so that they have
something so that they can give feedback to and to keep them listening
and feeling what we feel.
Q. WHAT WERE THE INFLUENCES WHEN WRITING EPILOUGE?
JESSE: Well, we kind of look at our songwriting process like a painting. We
take the album and we say the album is kind of like different textures that
make up the painting. What we like to do is to take each song and make
it a completely different texture so that way the album stays fresh
throughout the whole thing. What kind of helps us do that is that we listen
to a range of different crazy genres to country to EDM to metal to
everything and we just soak in things that we love about it and
incorporate it into our own.
