How has RMS changed since I started? Written By Paul Gibbs - Senior Regional Sales Manager HI GUYS, well I hope you all know who I am. I have met most of you and certainly been involved with the majority of you in your first few days with RMS. I hope it was a memorable experience and for all the right reasons! Anyway, it started for me way back when in the snowy month of January 2010. There were only 3 RSMs then with a total of about 30 BDMs and the whole company was housed on one floor in Matrix House, including the Call Centre! I remember sitting in the boardroom on my induction thinking “what’s going on here then?”. It was all very raw but even then you could see the ingredients of something very good were in place. My first priority was to build my team (not much has changed here then!) and getting out and about selling our membership so I understood the challenges and opportunities our BDMs face on a daily basis. My own JVs with the then Sales Director were interesting. Let’s just say that the coaching and feedback today has somewhat evolved! The recruiting process initially was in its infancy. We used one external recruiter who we relied heavily on and to be fair we had some great results. Steve Duncan, Jamie Connor, Barry Done, Mark Jenkins & Hayley Ross to name a few. I’m sure they will agree with me about the good feeling I had about RMS when I joined.
