Our Lansdowne Green event proved to be a big success
I hope you’ve all had a great summer and enjoyed spending
time with family and friends.
It’s been a very busy period. We’ve had some
amazing community events held across London,
Kent and Sussex. Well done to everybody involved
in making these events such a huge success. Our
fantastic International Day at Lansdowne Green
even featured in Inside Housing magazine which is
great publicity for us.
Staying true to our roots
You may have read about Genesis and Aster Group
and their thoughts on ending development of homes
for sub-market rent, and only building new homes
for shared ownership and market sale.
Although this might make financial sense, it’s not
something we’re planning to do. We’re determined
to stay true to our roots, however tough the
operating environment gets.
We want to carry on meeting a range of housing
needs, including housing the poorest in society.
This was important to our founders 51 years ago
and is equally important to us today.
Our financial plan
We’re busy reworking our financial plan which will
be submitted into the Homes and Communities
Agency (HCA) in October. It means we’re relooking
at our development programme to make sure we
maximise the viability of our schemes and looking
at how we can drive greater efficiency in our
operations.
Going for Gold
Finally, we’re back on track with our gold medal
targets. We’re heading towards the final straight
and it’s important we keep the momentum going to
achieve our goal of becoming Number One Large
Landlord by March 2016.
