Teamtalk January 2016 Edition 71

www.ahintranet.org.uk/teamtalkEdition 71 - February 2016 Our first AmicusHorizon Diversity Week took place (see page 6 and 7) It was a huge honour for me to be appointed Deputy Chair of the g15. The g15 are a group representing the biggest and most influential housing associations in London and the South East. Collectively the g15 house 1 in 10 Londoners and develop a quarter of all new homes built in London each year. They own and manage 550,000 homes, build 11,000 homes each year and have a development pipeline of 93,000 homes. I’ll serve as Deputy Chair until September 2017 after which I’ll become Chair for two years. The timing is really good as we expect to have legally completed our partnership with Viridian and Southwark and London Diocesan Housing Association (SLDHA) by this autumn. It’ll be a fantastic to bring the extra influence of the g15 chairship to our new combined organisation. And there has never been a more important time to increase our influence. There’ll be a new London Mayor in post this May and the Government are offering £4billion of funding to build Shared Ownership homes. We want to ensure we’re well placed to take advantage of these opportunities. Viridian update I’m pleased to confirm the Viridian partnership talks are going well. Board approval of the business case is now likely to be in March rather than February to ensure there’s enough time for both Boards to spend time together before sign off.
