-White matter
Is mainly formed by myelinated nerve fibers, which gives it its characteristic “white” color. This area is found in the depth of the brain or on the surface, in the case of the spinal cord.
-Neurons
Sensory, afferent or receptor neurons:
Are in charge of taking information from outside the organism towards the central nervous system
12
Peripheral nervous system (PNS)
Connects the central nervous system with their limbs and organs. It includes all peripheral nerves and their associated nodes.
-Autonomic nervous system
Is responsible for the control of automatic bodily functions, that is, of all those that are vital to the individual but don't require participation of his willingness to perform them.
-Voluntary nervous system
The rest of that functional systems involving the origin and relation of voluntary behavior are considered part of the somatic or voluntary system.
Diseases
-Alzheimer
: Progressive loss of memory for recent events.
-Epilepsy
Presence and occurrence of berries types of crisis of cerebral origin.
-Parkinson
Tremor in the extremities, limitation for muscle mobility and slowness.
-Effects on drugs use
Stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens and opioids
-Huntington
There are uncontrollable involuntary movements caused by a gene mutation
Motor or efferent neurons:
Responsible for transmitting information that originates the central nervous system to some peripheral organ or tissue.
Interneurons:
Responsible for filtering and integrating all the information received by the nervous system.
