A Farewell message from Linda…
Well, as I write this, it is just four weeks today unƟl we will be driving down the
motorway to Cheltenham - two dogs, eight chickens, rabbit and hamster in tow!!!
It has been an amazing four-and-a-half years in Barrow, and we do truly ‘Love
Barrow’ and we will miss Barrow; we have made wonderful friends across the
churches and also in the community.
It has been a privilege for me to serve both at St Mark’s Church and in the South
Barrow Team Ministry, as well being Chaplain to the Mayor, which also led to being
involved in the St Mary’s Hospice ‘Light Up a Life Service’, The Duke of
Lancaster’s Regimental AssociaƟon, The Remembrance Day Parade and service, The
St George’s Day Parade, The Legionnaires Memorial Service, The Submariners ’
Annual Service, The Civic Service and so many other wonderful opportuniƟes.
I also had the privilege of being Governor at St Paul’s School and St. George’s
Schools, well I have so enjoyed being part of them. I will miss the children very
much, and the commiƩed staff too - and Elaine Kent who does a great job!
And for us as a family, many of you have journeyed with us through significant
events in our lives and we would like to thank you for your love and care and
support that you have given - we have so many happy memories to take with us as
we begin our new lives in Cheltenham.
On a personal note, I would like to publicly thank all my family, but especially my
husband Steve; the support he has given me has been incredible and I am sure my
ministry would have been different without it – and we have enjoyed his cooking!!!
So, in the words of St Paul to the Philippians: ‘Every Ɵme I think of you, I give thanks
to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have
been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the Ɵme you first
heard it unƟl now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you,
will conƟnue his work unƟl it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.’
With our love, prayers and thanks
Linda, Steve and all the Cronin family
