ST. LUKE’S MOTHERS’ UNION
report written by Doreen Finch
On 23rd May, we held our Overseas Afternoon. We had a service of
prayers for our overseas link branches and a raffle and bring and buy stall
- the proceeds of which will help the work of MU overseas.
On 6th June, we had a Poetry Please afternoon; members read a varied
selection of poems from the sad to the hilarious - a very enjoyable
afternoon.
On 20th June, Geraldine Southam told us of the valuable work of the
Foodbank. 1000 food parcels have been given out since the Foodbank
began in July 2012. It provides valuable help to the needy in our time, as
well as hope. Please continue to support the Foodbank by bringing
contributions to church on Sundays.
The St Luke’s Mother’s Union Closing Service will be in the Ramsden
Chapel on 4th July at 2pm - Gary, our Team Rector, will be officiating;
there will be a faith tea afterwards.
Our programme resumes on 5th September.
