4. STEP UP: Initiate. Be a man of action. Lead. Assume it is your job and your moment. Hate apathy. Reject passivity. Accept responsibility. 2 Samuel 10:7,12 – When David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the army, the mighty men…”Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and may the LORD do what is good in His sight.” Ezekiel 22:30 – “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.” Proverbs 14:23 – All hard work leads to profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 20:6 – Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find? John 10:11 – I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. James 2:17 – In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 5. SPEAK THE TRUTH: Know and speak God’s truth. Recognize that behind every sin is a lie. ALWAYS be honest, even when it’s hard. Numbers 30:2 – When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. Colossians 3:9-10 – Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its evil practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of
 its Creator. Deuteronomy 8:3b – man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Joshua 1:8 – Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prospero us and successful. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 21
