of his class teachers wrote on his report card:
What I have appreciated most about you this year is your ability to work with others. You have really taken a leadership role within every team you have been a part of. You are patient in your explanations, thoughtful in your responses, and do a really good job helping others understand what they are struggling with.

Tony’s work to improve his engineering skills extends to his extra-curricular activities (in addition to being a skilled pianist and Tae Kwon Do red belt), and our team has benefited greatly from this. He was a member of the school’s team for the Northrup Grumman Innovation Challenge to create a VEX robotics vehicle. In 2012, he took a college class in Machine Tool Technology, where he learned how to operate metalworking machinery, and he qualified for the National Institute of Metalworking Skills certification in drilling. He also has attended summer engineering academies at Purdue and at Carnegie Mellon, where he won the Summer Academy of Math and Science Siemens Fellow award.
Tony hopes to attend MIT, major in mechanical engineering, and eventually go into robotics. We know that he will take the FRC experience with him, along with the technical, communication, and team skills that he gained through his FIRST participation. And we expect that he will follow in his father’s footsteps as a wonderful and dedicated mentor to other FRC teams for years to come.
