1. General description
The city game“ Traces of Freedom” was an educational activity designed to help students explore the relationship between local history, collective memory and the struggle for freedom. It combined outdoor learning, historical investigation, intercultural cooperation and digital storytelling. Through a series of tasks completed at selected locations in Tarnobrzeg, students discovered how historical events and individual experiences had shaped the local community and its understanding of freedom.
Working in international groups, students explored places connected with history, remembrance and civic identity. They collected information, analysed historical sources, discussed the significance of local heritage and reflected on how the past continued to influence contemporary society. The activity encouraged them to look beyond historical dates and events and consider the human experiences, personal choices and values that had shaped the history of freedom.
