TEACHER-LED INNOVATION PROJECTS
In their second year , Teacher-Leaders design and implement their community projects , known as Teacher-Led Innovation Projects . These projects are designed to strengthen leadership skills , enhance project management proficiency , and provide foundational knowledge for potential applications to Teach For Armenia ’ s Káits Social Innovation Incubator . 5 While primarily led by Teacher-Leaders , these projects actively involve students and community members in the cocreative process .
In 2023 , 63 Teacher-Leaders meticulously planned their projects , set for implementation in spring 2024 . These projects cover various topics , including science , technology , engineering , art , and math ( STEAM ). Notable projects include :
● Hakob Varosyan ’ s initiative sparked an interest in biology by guiding students in cell studies with microscopes and creating a microscope slide kit for the school .
● Astghik Dallakyan ’ s project deepened students ’ knowledge of physics and astronomy by studying planets and creating a model of the solar system .
While the eighth-generation Teacher-Leaders were focused on planning in 2023 , seventh-generation Teacher-Leaders , who developed their projects the previous year , actively implemented 100 community projects in spring 2023 . Teach For Armenia funded 9 of these projects , while others either raised funds independently or adapted their plans for zero-budget implementation .
According to our report on the seventh-generation Teacher-Led Innovation Projects , 3,993 students were reached , with 1,095 students ( 716 female , 353 male ) actively participating , including 21 students with special needs . Community engagement was substantial , with 853 community members directly involved and an additional 3,694 reached through the projects .
