Armenia in 2023 . Our exhibit , the Yellow Cube , featured a virtual reality experience that transported attendees to a school in Karinj village , Lori region , offering a unique glimpse into rural education . Narrated by former Teacher- Leader Arshak Poghosyan , this immersive experience provided visitors with a firsthand understanding of our impact in communities like Karinj . Additionally , Founder and CEO Larisa Hovannisian delivered a presentation , further advancing our mission and vision among event participants .
The event was highly successful , with over 400 attendees expressing interest in our Teacher Leadership Program and 20 applications received . This response underscored the effectiveness of our engagement strategy and the importance of our presence at DigiTech .
SEASIDE STARTUP SUMMIT
The Seaside Startup Summit , an annual gathering of leading angels , venture capitalists , entrepreneurs , and policymakers at Lake Sevan in Armenia , provided Teach For Armenia with a unique opportunity to engage with the local tech community . In 2023 , our participation included hosting educational games and giveaways , as well as a memorable campfire talk by Founder and CEO Larisa Hovannisian . These activities not only raised awareness of our educational initiatives but also fostered meaningful conversations about Armenia ’ s educational landscape .
Our presence at the Summit was impactful and multifaceted . We engaged with over 270 individuals through an educational quiz , enhancing their understanding of Armenia ’ s educational challenges . Additionally , more than 55 attendees participated in stand-up paddleboarding lessons we organized , creatively blending physical activity with educational advocacy . Overall , our outreach reached over 350 individuals , expanding our community of supporters and advocates . Post-event , we continued to engage new contacts through strategic social media campaigns and follow-up communications . The Teach For Armenia tent served as a hub for interaction , learning , and discovery , reinforcing our mission and fostering new connections .
