These events helped reignite connections within the network as the threat of COVID-19 and social distancing requirements began to subside . In 2022 , for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic , our annual Alumni- Ambassador Retreat took place in-person , bringing together over 120 alumni for a weekend of team building , professional development , and engaging panel discussions . We also hosted one of our most anticipated events of the year in August 2022 – our Navasard Graduation and Award Ceremony , bringing together Teach For Armenia staff and outgoing Teacher-Leaders to honor their time in the classroom and transition to becoming Alumni-Ambassadors .
We are always creating new opportunities for Alumni-Ambassadors to continue their professional development . In 2022 we partnered with the Armenian Coding Academy to enroll 52 Alumni- Ambassadors in coding courses , and connected our alumni network to various engagements and programs like the STEMAr event in Yerevan , United World College ’ s “ Just Dilijan It ” Camp , and the Enterprise Incubator Foundation .
ANNUAL ALUMNI SURVEY
We leverage our annual Alumni Survey to gauge Alumni-Ambassadors ’ continued involvement in and alignment with our work for educational justice . Of our 240 Alumni-Ambassadors , 207 participated in the survey in 2022 . Ninety percent of respondents reported that they are actively contributing to our mission to end educational inequity , and 70 % continue to work in the education sector , either as teachers , school leaders , or in education management .
