ALUMNI- AMBASSADORS
Cultivating the leadership skills of our Teacher-Leaders does not end with their time in the classroom . We aim to further spur their professional growth as leaders following their successful completion of the Teacher Leadership Program through key Leadership Pathways , such as Instructional Leadership , School Leadership , Nonprofit Management , Social Innovation , and Educational Technology . As of August 2022 , our alumni network boasts 240 Teacher-Leaders turned
Alumni-Ambassadors . The lifelong advocacy for educational justice that we strive to inspire in them is just as crucial as their two years spent teaching in our partner schools .
Throughout the year our Regional Representatives , who are volunteer alumni tasked with cultivating a network among fellow Alumni-Ambassadors in their respective regions , organized a variety of recreational and educational activities to foster community and professional growth within the network . They included focus groups designed to elevate issues that are important to alumni , and Professional Development Days in the Northern and Southern regions that covered topics such as coaching , collective thinking , and collective acting .
To honor former Teacher-Leader Armen Mkrtchyan , who taught Math in Dzyunashogh village before his untimely passing , our Alumni-Ambassadors organized a crowdfunding campaign in his memory in 2022 . The funds raised were used to establish a classroom-based history museum in Armen ’ s name .
